About No1 Charlotte Street…

No 1 Charlotte Street, Port Ellen

No1 Charlotte Street is situated in the town of Port Ellen which is located on the south of the Island.  It is the perfect base for whisky tours and a scenic purpose-built path links the village to the three distilleries of Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg allowing visitors to walk or cycle to the distilleries of their choice. The building overlooks the bay of Kilnaughton and has a private garden with access to the beach.

The building is a superb example of Victorian architecture which retains many of the original features throughout. Traditionally built in stone in the early nineteenth century, the building played a main role in the day to day life of the Victorian community. The guest rooms are located on the first and second floors while the bars and breakfast room are on the ground floor.
